Game with paragraphs in Microsoft Word
This can be easy if you want to move the paragraph up and down or change the order of the different paragraphs in Microsoft Word, this way ...
If you want to paragraph up and down in Word ...
Sometimes when we are preparing a report or document in Word and then re-checking the whole text, there is a need to move a paragraph up and down. When this happens, we usually select the entire paragraph, copy and paste it where we want to put it.
But there is an easier solution than that. Place the cursor anywhere in the paragraph you want to move and then press Alt + Shift key here and click OK or DOWN. When we click up, the paragraph will reach the top paragraph and if we click down, the bottom paragraph will reach the bottom!
If you want to change the order of different paragraphs in Word ...
The method shown above seems to work when you have to move a single paragraph up and down in a document, but what if you need to check the text carefully and then change the order of five-seven paragraphs?
Word also has a solution. For simplicity, let us assume that our text has a total of five paragraphs and we have to change their order, i.e. move the fourth paragraph to the second, the third to the fifth, and so on. So before each paragraph, write the order in which you want to place it, according to the new order you want to create for all five paragraphs.
Just like if you want to keep the first paragraph as it is, 1 before it, if you want to move the second paragraph to 4th, then 3 before it.
After the five paragraphs have been rearranged in this way, in the header ribbon, in the Home tab, go to the Paragraph group and click on the short tool in it. This will open the Sort Tax dialog box.
In it, select the paragraph in 'Sort by' and select the number in 'Type'. Now by clicking OK, all the five paragraphs will be arranged in a new order of 1, 2, 3, 4! Now delete the number we wrote before each paragraph and that's it!
